AGYLE - Shaping Innovation

AGYLE brings together young leaders from Africa and Germany for long-term business networking. Direct encounter and partnership-based exchange between selected African countries and Germany promotes the development of innovative ideas and projects and thus lays the foundation for sustainable economic cooperation.

Networking pays off - Africa's young start-up scene is dynamic

A dynamic start-up scene and a young, up-and-coming generation of leaders: Africa is a highly diverse continent with numerous opportunities and potentials. Not only does it harbour a wealth of resources and a growing middle class, but it is also home to a young generation that is turning their continent into an outstanding economic partner and future market with remarkable entrepreneurial spirit.

Through a thriving start-up and tech scene, the natural use of digital communication tools, new cryptocurrencies and mobile payment services - Africa's young elite are hitting the international stage with high innovative power and dynamism.

Young and creative leaders are jointly creating impulses for innovation and economic growth - in Africa as well as in Germany. This is how the challenges of the future can be mastered in a solution-oriented approach.

Circular Economy - How Young Leaders Shape the Transformation - The 2024 Annual Theme

As an African-German business network, AGYLE aims to contribute to a social and ecological economic transformation and bring together a generation of African and German leaders who not only operate efficiently, but also make decisions based on social and ecological criteria. We are concerned with the following questions: How can cooperation between African and German companies be strengthened to promote and expand the circular economy? What answers have African and German companies found to the global waste and resource crisis and the economic challenges of ecological transformation? What solutions already exist and what can be transferred?

The focus of AGYLE 2024 is therefore on overarching ideas and visions of young leaders who are taking a proactive role in the development towards a circular economy and dealing with innovative solutions in sectors such as textiles, construction, electronics, packaging and food. The AGYLE Live Week in September offers the Young Leaders exclusive discussion rounds with representatives from business and politics combined with the opportunity to exchange ideas and expand their network in an international setting.  The Young Leaders develop personally and professionally through intercultural cooperation, specialist formats and leadership impulses; companies benefit from this further development and also position themselves as pioneers on the path towards a circular economy.

Please note: It is not a mandatory requirement for participants to have previous experience in the area of German-African cooperation. Rather, AGYLE is looking for dedicated individuals with a collaborative mindset seeking to jointly contribute to an inclusive, sustainable economic system with long-term viability.
