IPD mentoring programme for female managers

The Import Promotion Desk (IPD) launched a mentoring programme for female managers at the end of 2024 as part of its ‘Women in Global Trade’ activities. The response has been overwhelming: the organisation team has already been able to put together more than 40 tandems from the pool of over 80 mentees and mentors.
Following the kick-off, the international exchange is in full swing and there is great enthusiasm for the transnational cooperation.
Growing together: five key topics for success
The mentees have the opportunity to work specifically on their professional and personal development. They can choose from five key topics:
- Career & Leadership
- Finance & Management
- Marketing & Networking
- Equality & Inclusion
- Work-Life-Balance.
Dr Esther M. Nkuba, Managing Director of the IPD company Tunu Agriproducts in Tanzania, and Pamela Stenzel, international business lawyer and Co-Chair of the International Commission of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs in Germany (VdU), are one of more than 40 tandems in the IPD mentoring programme. Following online meetings, the two met in person for the first time at the Biofach fair in Nuremberg.
Outlook: Empowerment for a new generation of managers
With this programme, the IPD is setting an example for the promotion of female managers worldwide. The success of the first mentoring phase shows how valuable the exchange between experienced and aspiring female entrepreneurs is.
