Health Manufacturing in South Africa: Opportunities for European Companies

The Agency for Business & Economic Development (AWE), together with SAVax, a programme commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU), implemented by GIZ in cooperation with South Africa’s Department of Science, Technology and Innovation and Department of Health, invites you to an interactive online webinar on opportunities for European companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors in South Africa.

  • Insights into South Africa’s biopharmaceutical and biotech ecosystem, including infrastructure, policy frameworks, and market potential
  • Opportunities for European engagement, from contract manufacturing and licensing to R&D and technology transfer
  • Presentations from leading South African accelerators and innovation platforms, showcasing high-potential products and enterprises
  • Discussion on implementation modalities such as technical assistance, grants, and training support
  • Next steps for collaboration including matchmaking with local partners and project support through GIZ/SAVax
