The Agency for Business & Economic Development (AWE), German-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Ukraine) in cooperation with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), invite to an online info session on 8. September 2025, from 10:00 to 10:45 (CET).
The session will provide an overview of the second EU Call for Expressions of Interest under the Ukraine Investment Framework (UIF), highlighting how private sector actors from the EU/EEA and Ukraine can engage in large-scale investment projects that contribute to Ukraine’s economic recovery across strategic sectors.
Elisabeth Szeli, Policy Officer at DG NEAR, will offer key insights into the scope, eligibility, and strategic priorities of the Call.
The European Commission has launched a second Call for Expressions of Interest aimed at mobilising private investment from Ukrainian and EU/EEA companies into Ukraine’s economy. The initiative is part of the Ukraine Investment Framework (UIF) and supports strategic sectors such as energy, critical raw materials, digital transformation, transport and more.
To be eligible under the Call for Expressions of Interest, investment projects must take place within the territory of Ukraine. Applicants must be private companies, joint ventures, or consortia legally established in Ukraine or the EU/EEA. Projects should align with the priority sectors defined by the Ukraine Investment Framework, specifically focusing on construction materials, energy, critical raw materials, manufacturing, digital transformation, and transport.
Each project must have a minimum total investment size of €50 million, with the project promoter contributing at least 10% of the investment through own equity. This session is especially relevant for bigger businesses interested in investment opportunities in Ukraine and looking to contribute to its reconstruction and sustainable development.
